I have to admit I was a little nervous about this assignment. I was afraid of being able to communicate with people outside the United States because of language barriers. I did however choose to make contact with someone in South Africa. I emailed two people. One at the UNICEF in South Africa and the other was at an Early Childhood Conference in South Africa. I will post something as soon as I hear from them. I am excited now about what I could possibly learn! I am no longer nervous just hoping to hear back soon. I am so excited!
I chose to use The National Association for the Education of Young Children
www.naeyc.org website for exploring. I like it because they have so much information from all over. I really am looking forward to getting information from them. I especially like that they have different trainings that are offered listed on their site for a variety of different issues. This is going to be great!
So excited! I got an email back at 8:36 AM from South Africa! I was at work so I just told him Thank you responding and I would email him tonight and ask questions. I can't believe somebody actually responded! I figured they would ignore me. I will post more when I talk to him again! I am so excited!
ReplyDeleteThis is the additional information I have found out so far from my resource in South Africa.

Hi Susann,
ReplyDeleteI was nervous too, but now I am really excited about having a contact from outside of the US, I can't wait to learn more about these international programs! The contacts you have made in South Africa sound really interesting, I am looking forward to learning more about the programs through what you share. It sounds like the contact program you have found is a valuable resource to South Africa's early childhood field!
Hello Susan,
ReplyDeleteI also chose UNICEF but (Nigeria). I am a little bit nervous too but I believe this is a great opportunity for us to learn globally. This is going to be an interesting course and I am looking forward to the new experience form other professionals outside the United States.
Good Job!!! Your blog was very interesting, did you like sending emails to the web-sites, asking them different question? I did I never did anything like that I would like to hear their feedback. I would like to talk to them one-on-one, so I can get a great understanding on what I asked. I am waiting on my feedback I hope they give me some things I can build up on to make me mind get deeper in context.
