"My intrinsic motivation comes from knowing the services I provide to children, benefits them. It's of no benefit to me. I have committed to providing services I want to give based on experiences I was provided as a child. People offered me opportunities, now it's my turn to offer opportunities. I'm just wanting to make a difference."
"It's not all about you. You gotta take your ego out of it. It's about what's best for the child."
"Let us all take more responsibility, not only for ourselves and our families but for our communities and our country."
William J. Clinton
"We must teach our children to resolve their conflicts with words, not weapons."
William J. Clinton
"Education is not a problem. Education is an opportunity."
Lyndon B. Johnson
"We must open the doors of opportunity. But we must also equip our people to walk through those doors."
Lyndon B. Johnson
"Poverty must not be a bar to learning and learning must offer an escape from poverty."

Susann, All of your quotes are extremely motivating. I especially like William J. Clinton’s quote - "Let us all take more responsibility, not only for ourselves and our families but for our communities and our country." This quote demonstrates the impact that we as educators can have in society if we really take responsibility and action in our field. Though our actions immediately impact ourselves and our families, we can have a huge impact on the outside environment if people work together with the end goal of helping others!
ReplyDeleteI really identified with this quote "Education is not a problem. Education is an opportunity." from Lyndon B. Johnson. We keep hearing what problems we have in public education, but I look at this time in our country as an opportunity to make things so much better that we ever thought possible. Why not stop pointing fingers at who's to blame and just buckle down and try to fix the problem.
ReplyDeleteI like the quote by Lyndon B. Johnson that you posted that stated "we must open the doors of opportunity. But we must also equip our people to walk thru those doors". That is my passion for wanting to teach in early childhood; to equip our teachers so that they will equip the children. That's powerful. Tnanks for providing the quote.
ReplyDeleteHello Susan The quote I can associate with is
ReplyDelete" Poverty must not be a bar to learning and learning must offer an escape from poverty." I believe this quote holdheartly. Many people have the thinking that if you are poor you can not recieve a good education. I want to teach others that no matter how poor someone is they to can learn and enjoy life. I want to teach children that a good education can help them achieve any dream that they have. I want to help children understand that edcuation will help them break the cycle of living in poverty.
I viewed the website you suggested. I'm impressed with the different activities to keep students active.
